National Youth Movement for the West Philippine Sea

The youth movement arose among global Filipinos in defense of the country’s territory and national sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea. During the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the area came under “recurrent incursions and harassments by military and civilian Chinese vessels” as reported by the press. The movement is non-government and made up of volunteers with a keen sense of patriotism and nationalism. Concerned by the unfettered Chinese threat to Philippine sovereignty and patrimony, Dr. Celia Lamkin, a retired medical doctor in Saipan started the movement which now numbers in the thousands around the world.
